The Dromankese Indigenous Women Farmers Group is grassroots, women-led
agricultural cooperative based in Bono East, Ghana. Our group consists primarily of
single mothers and rural women committed to using sustainable farming to drive
economic independence, food security, and community resilience.
We specialize in the cultivation of cashew, maize, yam, groundnuts, pepper, and beans,
along with small-scale livestock farming. We also process cashew fruits into juice and
alcohol and sell the cashew nuts as an income-generating product.
The Dromankese Women Indigenous Group is a vibrant community of resilient women committed to building better lives through sustainable farming, cultural preservation, and economic empowerment. Rooted in our indigenous values and deep connection to the land, we work together to support one another, uplift our families, and contribute to the well-being of our community. Formed out of a shared vision for self-reliance and growth, the group brings together women from diverse backgrounds who are passionate about agriculture, environmental stewardship, and traditional skills. From cultivating nutritious crops to engaging in food processing and craft-making, we blend modern practices with indigenous knowledge to create opportunities for income and food security.
We foster leadership and civic participation among rural women
